I’ve used a number of anti virus programs in the past, that have after about 10 years of surfing the web have caused me very few problems.  It’s best to spend some time reviewing the different software programs available, or to read what others have to say about the programs.  There are some nasty programs out there masquerading as anti-virus programs which are really viruses themselves.  It would behoove you to do some due-diligence  of your own before downloading anything.  This Bitdefender review is a good place to start.

One of the things you’ll want to check for, when researching anti-virus programs, is the frequency with which the vendor updates the database of known viruses, and their software.  While a virus defender may work well today, the frequency which new viruses pop up is alarming, a anti-virus programs to to be constantly updated.  With a little bit of  looking around, you should have not problem finding the program to do the job for you.

To solve this problem, speakers are produced in a range of sizes, and with different mounting options. Floor speakers are at the bulkier side of the scale. These speakers are large, free standing units that can be several feet high, or taller. To position this type of speaker safely you will need enough room to move around them without causing a trip hazard – but the benefit is that sound quality is generally extremely good. Once you have settled on a type and model of speaker, the next step is to optimize for the seating position. The ideal speaker placement for surround sound is to have the front and rear speakers equally distant from the main listening position, and at or slightly above ear level. After setting up your home theater, getting the placement right, tidying cables, and figuring out how to use your new system, you will be more than ready to relax and enjoy it!

Out of the three the least expensive is the Forerunner 205 so if money is your main concern then this is the watch for you. You can get it for about $140 at the time of writing this article. It has great signal reception and usability but lacks Mac and heart rate monitor support.

On the other end of the spectrum is the Forerunner 405 which costs about twice the price of the 205 at $270. It is compact and light making it great for those that want a GPS watch that can be worn in everyday life. It has Mac and heart rate monitor support but has poor signal reception and is less usable because it has a touch bezel which can be difficult to use.

The Forerunner 305 is a great value as it is packed with features and sold for a little more than the 205 at $175. It is the same size as the 205 and slightly larger and heavier than the 405. It has a heart rate monitor and support for a foot pod and cadences sensor for bicyclists. It also has the ability to display 4 data fields compared to 3 for the 405. Like the 405 it also has Mac support.

If you are someone who is on a very tight budget then the Forerunner 205 is definitely the way to go. On the other hand if you have a few hundred to spend and size and weight are an important factor for you then go with the Forerunner 405. For everyone else the Garmin Forerunner 305 highly recommended and is arguable the best GPS watch on the market and is highly recommended.

The purpose of using offsite tape storage is to maintain a recoverable copy of your IT systems in a location outside of your main place of business in case some disaster happens to the company. Disasters such as an over voltage event to the building or flooding following a burst water main can rapidly result in all your computer systems going down.

Tape storage has traditionally been the favored way of backing up system in spite of how slow it can be to generate backups and restore from tape. However, backup tape is reliable, safe and is very cheap currently so it is easy to maintain several generations of internal systems at a relatively low cost.

When looking at choosing an offsite tape storage facility/company there are a couple of things to look out for. The first is any legal obligations that may exist regarding the data protection of your data. If your backup tapes are storing public information (e.g. government systems) then the offsite tape storage facility will need to comply with these regulations.

Secondly, the location of the facility is critical to your disaster recovery plan. It needs to be far enough away so that it won’t be affected by the same climactic conditions that could impact your firm, while still near enough to drive should you need to retrieve backup tapes in a lower severity incident (e.g. to recover lost data following a power out).

Lastly, you should always test out the offsite tape storage facility with a dummy run restore from tapes to a main or auxiliary back up system. There is nothing worse than finding out your backup tapes are not usable with your existing tape reading devices.

If you are going to be out purchasing one of these things it is very easy to spend to much money. To avoid doing that you need to have a price cap in mind. By having one of these in mind you will be able to avoid blowing your entire months pay to the point you cannot afford your electric bill which you are going to need to have the speakers work.

Something that you are going to want to keep in mind is the how large the item is going to be. Since you are probably going to want to keep them smaller so that they will look better you will want to look at those, but at the same time you could consider the other options that are available as well.

The sound quality that is produced can be a significant in helping you find the proper one. If you do not choose the proper one you will have a poor sound which is something that you do not want to have happen. So make sure that you are able to listen to them prior to you making your purchase.

If you have the knowledge on how to put them up that will be beneficial as well. You might think that just putting them up on the wall is enough, but you are also going to need to know how to adjust the balance properly so that they sound good no matter what.

If you are looking for wall speakers you probably know that it can be a difficult thing to do. The problem is going to be easy to solve if you know what to look for when you are just starting out. By knowing what to look for you can avoid over paying for items that are going to be of a poor quality for you.

Automating the Income Statement

For restaurants the income statement is an excellent indicator of how the business is doing. The income statement contains all of the revenues the restaurant has generated. Restaurants generate revenues by making sales of food and beverages. If a restaurant has a point-of-sale (POS) system that is integrated with the restaurant accounting software, then every time food or drink is sold, the income statement automatically reflects the sale. This means that revenue is automatically credited. Basically the POS system sends the data entered from the register directly to the accounting software. The accounting software recognizes the data and puts it in the correct category.

The income statement also lists all of the expenses that restaurants incur. Some normal expenses for restaurants include the cost of the food and drink (known as cost of goods sold), employee payroll expenses, rent, utilities, and cost of equipment. Again technology can save you time, energy, and data-entry errors. When a product is sold and your employee enters the information into the register, the cost of the product (the price you paid for it) is also sent to the accounting software. The accounting software will then debit cost of goods sold for the price of the product. This means that your company can have up-to-date information on profitability with minimal effort.

Note that some manual entry is still required. For example, your accountant(s) will need to update the cost of the food and drink. The POS system doesn’t automatically know how much was paid for restaurant ingredients. However, with an integrated system, you should only have to enter the cost once and then the system will do the rest (of course if prices change you will have to update them).

Most accounting software for restaurants will be able to automatically generate reports for you. The software comes with some preformatted income statement reports that are very useful. However, you can decide to customize the report to fit your style and needs. Most successful managers look at these reports regularly to see how the restaurant is doing. If profitability is down, the accounting software can separate costs by entrees and show which entrees are under or over performing.

Cash Flow Statement

Although the income statement is extremely important for restaurants, everybody knows that “Cash is King.” Income statements tend to tell a company’s story using accrual based accounting. Unfortunately accrual based accounting doesn’t reflect the cash position of the company. Most restaurant accounting software packages can help automate the task of changing the accrued number to cash-based numbers.

Today, the software world is moving more and more towards integration or enterprise resource planning (the Internet and online accounting services have made this possible for businesses). The idea is that the different parts of the business or restaurant should be able to talk with each other. The days of having to reenter data from one system into the next are coming to a close and this is great news for restaurant owners. Using modern technology it is no longer a hassle for restaurant owners to analyze important information about the profitability of their restaurants.

One such investment you absolutely must make is by purchasing a VPN account as these are used to encrypt your data when you are browsing the internet. These are primarily used for business purposes although they are starting to become more accessible for personal use as well.

Predictive maintenance software was originally developed as a way of analyzing and determining when components were actually going to fail. The idea is that preventative maintenance can then be actioned to replace the components before they fail, possibly causing more damage (e.g. scheduled replacement of the fan belt on your car).

Each component on any machine, electronic or mechanical, has its own pre-determined life span potential based upon how it is normally treated, the environment in which it is used and its running (how often it is operational). The real goal of maintenance software is to use historical data of component failures, along with statistical analysis to take the guess work out of when components will begin failing.

The next step in this software is the automatic notification of imminent failures to engineers. These can even generate work tickets/orders by paper, via email/text or using other systems for any planned maintenance work that is ongoing.

The benefit of using such software is that the amount of failures are considerably limited/reduced, as is the amount of systems downtime. Automating work orders can also streamline the smooth operations of a business without the need for excessive human intervention.

The latest trend in predictive maintenance is to incorporate these tools with preventative maintenance software. For example, in expensive mainframes and server systems they frequently have backup components installed from day one which the maintenance can use up to its predicted failure date then invoke its own PC maintenance software to shut down the used component (e.g. drives/RAM) and switch over all processing to the fresh component.

The average features for mainstream laptops nowadays include a 2-2.66GHz processor, at least a 4GB RAM and more than a hundred gigs of disk space. All of the best laptops today are power packed with multimedia features that support the fastest online connectivity and latest, innovative devices. Compared to the gadgets a few years back, the features of today’s laptops have improved more than twice in speed, disk space, size, weight and even creative channels. The best laptops in the century are those that are fully equipped with almost anything that a lot of people need. It is not a wonder that a few years from now, what we call revolutionary today might just be a future junk. Only those that are future-proof would survive. So if you are looking for a laptop, choose the types that are expected to have a long-term blast even if new laptop models evolve. How do you do that? Here are two things to consider.

Fast is not enough.

If you are looking for the best laptop, choose those types with the fastest processors and memory. You would not want to be left behind when the future is expected to provide of at least 3.2 GHz processors. If this processor is not yet available in the nearest stores, put your best foot forward to find processors of close speed.

Also, consider having the best possible memory. The best available memory in the market today is 8GB. If you can find one, do not just roll your eyes. Grab one before your laptop gets left behind in just a year or so.

Disk space is the extent of your freedom.

You should be well aware that disk space is all about how much you can keep in your laptop. With the revolutionary emergence of various multimedia files and programs, you would not wish to miss a thing. So if you want the best laptop, make sure that you get the ones with at least 320GB of space. If not, at least 250GB, but if you are a true-blue gamer, you might consider more than that.
